Property Taxes

The full amount of the tax bill or the first installment is payable to the City of Cedarburg by January 31, 2024.  Tax bills paid through January 31, 2024 can be paid at the following locations:

City Hall, (W63 N645 Washington Ave.) – Open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  The Treasurer’s Office will be closed December 25 & 26, 2023 and January 1 & 2, 2024.  Elevator access to the first floor Treasurer’s Office is available from the south entrance of City Hall. 

Drop box – On the south side of the City Hall building is a drop box. If you want the payment to be receipted in 2023 it needs to be dropped off by 4:00 p.m. on December 31. City Hall is closed on December 31. If you would like a receipt please enclose a self-addressed, stamped, business size envelope with your tax payment. 

U.S. Mail (P.O. Box 49) – Payments postmarked on or before the due date (or December 31 if you are paying your bill in 2023), will be considered paid as of that day.  If you would like a receipt, please enclose a self-addressed, stamped, business size envelope with your tax payment. 

Banks:

  •     BMO Harris Bank, Columbia Road, Cedarburg
  •     BMO Harris Bank, Washington Avenue, Cedarburg          
  •     Port Washington State Bank, Cedarburg

All banks closed on 12/25/23 and 1/1/24.

Payments can be made during normal bank hours.  Bring a copy of your tax bill(s) to process your payment.

If you are paying with a tax escrow check from a financial institution, make sure to include your signature on the back of the check if you are listed as a payee.  If the escrow check is more than the tax bill, the difference will be refunded to you via a City check within 10 business days.   Port Washington State Bank will issue refunds immediately.

Dog & cat licenses are available at City Hall.  Licenses are required annually and are valid January 1 – December 31.  Bring in or mail the rabies certificate(s) and fee(s) to the Treasurer’s Office at City Hall.  The rabies certificates will be returned with the license.  If mailed, include a self-addressed stamped envelope.

Fees:    Dog or Cat $10, spayed or neutered dog or cat $5

Licenses must be renewed by March 31, 2024.  After this date, a late fee applies.
